What does the Bible say about dealing with evil people?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that believers should not repay evil with evil, but entrust justice to God, pursue peace, and respond with wisdom, truth, and steadfast love. Romans 12:19 and Exodus 14:14 remind us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, who sees wrongdoing and will judge rightly. James 1:19-20 and Proverbs 29:11 warn against uncontrolled anger, while Ephesians 4:31-32 calls Christians to put away bitterness and forgive as God has forgiven them in Christ. Yet forgiveness does not require naïveté: 1 Corinthians 15:33 and 2 Timothy 3:1-5 counsel discernment and appropriate distance from corrupting, unrepentant influences. In suffering, 1 Peter 3:8-18 directs us to bless others, keep a clear conscience, and honor Christ as Lord.
