The Bible teaches that no one goes to heaven by earning it through good deeds, but by God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 says salvation is God’s gift, not the result of works, because all people are sinners and fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). Even our best righteousness cannot cleanse us from sin (Isaiah 64:6), and sin deserves death (Romans 6:23).
