What does the Bible say about grafting?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that God graciously incorporates believing Gentiles into His covenant people through faith in Christ, while warning all believers to remain humble and dependent on His mercy. In Romans 11:17-24, Paul pictures Gentiles as wild olive branches grafted into the rich root of God’s promises to Israel. They do not support the root; the root supports them. Jewish branches were broken off because of unbelief, and Gentile believers stand only by faith. Therefore, no one may boast, for God is both kind and severe, preserving those who continue in His kindness and able to graft Israel in again through faith.
