The Bible teaches that the grave is the sober consequence of sin, yet it is not the final victory for those who belong to Christ. Hosea 13:14 foretells God’s triumph over death and the grave, revealing his power to redeem his people from their bondage. This promise is fulfilled in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who died, was buried, and rose again. Therefore Paul can proclaim in 1 Corinthians 15:55, “O death, where is thy sting?
