The Bible teaches that grief is a real sorrow in a fallen world, yet God meets his people with compassion, comfort, and the sure hope of redemption. Jesus calls mourners blessed in Matthew 5:4, promising that they will be comforted, and Psalm 34:18 assures us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted.
