What does the Bible say about heave offering?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that heave offerings were portions set apart and lifted before the Lord, acknowledging that all provision belongs to him and supporting the priests who served at his sanctuary. Israel brought these gifts with sacrifices and firstfruits as acts of worship and gratitude (Deuteronomy 12:6; Numbers 15:19-21). Portions of peace offerings, including the right thigh, belonged to the priests after being presented to the Lord (Leviticus 7:32; Exodus 29:27). The Levites also gave a heave offering, the best tenth of their tithes, for the priests (Numbers 18:26-29). These ordinances taught holiness, generous devotion, and God’s provision for ministry, ultimately pointing to Christ, whose sacrifice fulfills the ceremonial law.
