What does the Bible say about how to act?

The Bible teaches that we should act in humble obedience to God, loving others, pursuing holiness, and trusting him to guide our lives for his glory. Micah 6:8 calls us to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God, while Colossians 3:17 teaches that all we do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus. We must avoid self-righteous judgment, yet exercise wise discernment, as Matthew 7:1-6 shows. Faithful conduct grows from a mind set on things above and from diligent attention to God’s truth (Colossians 3:2; 2 Timothy 2:15). Love is essential, for even costly deeds are empty without it (1 Corinthians 13:3, 13).
