What does the Bible say about indecision?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible warns that indecision often reveals a divided heart and calls us to trust God, obey His revealed will, and seek steadfast faith in Christ. Elijah asked Israel why they wavered between two opinions in 1 Kings 18:21, while Hosea 10:2 and James 1:8 expose the instability of a heart divided in loyalty. Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:24 that no one can serve two masters, and Matthew 26:41 urges watchfulness and prayer amid human weakness. Where God has made duty clear, James 4:17 warns against delaying obedience. Yet God also graciously calls hesitant believers forward, as in Exodus 14:15 and Joshua 7:10, strengthening them to act in faith.
