What does the Bible say about ingratitude to god?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible portrays ingratitude to God as a serious sin that forgets his goodness, rejects his rightful rule, and leads the heart into spiritual darkness. Romans 1:21 teaches that people knew God yet refused to honor or thank him, and their thinking became futile. Through Isaiah, Jeremiah, Micah, and Moses, God graciously charges his people with forgetting the Father who made, redeemed, guided, and provided for them. Isaiah 1:2-3 especially shows the shame of creatures who know less gratitude than an ox knows its owner. Yet these rebukes call us back to humble repentance, recognizing every good gift as from God and responding with faith, worship, obedience, and thankful praise through Christ.
