What does the Bible say about life insurance?

The Bible does not command or forbid life insurance, but it commends wise provision for one’s household while calling believers to rest their security in God’s faithful care. Proverbs 13:22 praises leaving an inheritance, and 1 Timothy 5:8 urges responsible care for family members, so insurance may be a prudent tool for protecting dependents after death. Yet Hebrews 13:5-6 and Isaiah 43:2 remind us that money and policies cannot replace the Lord’s presence or sovereignty. Christians should therefore use such provision thoughtfully, avoid burdensome debt and greedy fear, and trust that God works all things for the good of His people (Romans 8:28).
