What does the Bible say about minding your own business?

The Bible calls believers to live quietly, fulfill their own responsibilities, and leave others to God’s rightful judgment rather than meddling in matters that do not concern them. In 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12, Paul urges Christians to work diligently and mind their own affairs as a witness before outsiders. Proverbs 26:17 warns against inserting oneself into another person’s quarrel, while 1 Peter 4:15 forbids being a meddler. Jesus reminds Peter in John 21:20-22 to follow Him without demanding to know God’s plan for someone else. Yet this does not excuse indifference to sin: Luke 6:42 calls us first to repent humbly of our own faults before seeking to help a brother.
