What does the Bible say about our purpose?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that our purpose is to glorify God, belong to Him, and faithfully serve Him in the work He has appointed for us. God created people for His glory (Isaiah 43:7) and accomplishes His wise, sovereign purposes in all things (Ephesians 1:11; Isaiah 14:24). Though we make plans, the Lord directs our steps (Proverbs 16:9), and He works even trials for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). In Christ, believers are chosen and sent to bear lasting fruit (John 15:16), obey God (Ecclesiastes 12:13), and make disciples among the nations (Matthew 28:19).
