What does the Bible say about our weakness?

The Bible teaches that our weakness is not beyond God’s help but a place where his grace, power, and faithful care are displayed. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Christ tells Paul that his grace is sufficient and his power is made perfect in weakness. Romans 8:26 assures believers that the Holy Spirit helps us when we do not know how to pray, while Psalms 34:17-20 proclaims the Lord’s nearness to the brokenhearted and his deliverance from troubles. Our hearts are fallen and unreliable (Jeremiah 17:9), yet in Christ there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1). Therefore believers need not trust themselves, but rest in God’s provision (Philippians 4:19) and strength (Philippians 4:13).
