The Bible presents the murder of a parent as a grievous sin, forbidden by God’s command to honor father and mother and condemned under His prohibition of murder. In 2 Kings 19:37 and Isaiah 37:38, Sennacherib is killed by his own sons while worshiping in the house of his god, a tragic event recorded within God’s judgment on a proud and violent king. Scripture does not excuse their act, but shows that the Lord rules even over sinful human deeds and will judge all wrongdoing.
