The Bible teaches that believers should pray together in humble dependence on God, trusting Christ’s presence and seeking his will with united hearts. Jesus promises that where even two or three gather in his name, he is present, and he encourages agreement in prayer according to the Father’s purposes (Matthew 18:19-20). The church is called to confess sins, pray for one another, and seek healing through the effective prayer of the righteous (James 5:14-16).
