What does the Bible say about sexual sin?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible calls sexual sin contrary to God’s good design for marriage, warns of its spiritual and personal harm, and offers forgiveness and new life through Jesus Christ. Scripture commands believers to flee sexual immorality and honor God with their bodies, which belong to him (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Jesus teaches that sinful desire in the heart also needs repentance (Matthew 5:28). Marriage is to be held in honor, with sexual faithfulness guarded within it (Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 7:2). Yet temptation is not irresistible: God faithfully provides a way to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). Those washed and justified in Christ, including former sexual sinners, are called to holiness, confession, and mutual prayer (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; James 5:16).
