What does the Bible say about spirits walking the earth?

The Bible does not teach that the spirits of the dead ordinarily remain on earth wandering among the living; it teaches that people die, await God’s judgment, and will be raised by his power. Job 7:9-10 describes death as a departure from one’s earthly home, while Isaiah 26:19 looks forward in hope to the resurrection of the dead.
