What does the Bible say about suffering?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that suffering is a real part of life in a fallen world, yet for those united to Christ it is never meaningless or outside God’s fatherly care. Believers share in Christ’s sufferings as heirs who also await glory, while creation itself groans for redemption (Romans 8:17-23). God supplies the Spirit’s help in weakness and prayer (Romans 8:26), and He uses affliction to display Christ’s life, renew His people inwardly, and prepare an eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:11-18). Christians may endure hardship, rejection, and costly service, but they do so in fellowship with Christ and with the sure hope of resurrection (Acts 9:16; Philippians 1:29; Philippians 3:10).
