What does the Bible say about whoredom?

The Bible condemns whoredom as sexual immorality and, especially, as a vivid image of unfaithfulness to the Lord, calling his people to holiness, covenant faithfulness, and repentance. Leviticus 19:29 forbids treating sexuality as commerce or exploitation. Deuteronomy 31:16 and Judges 2:17 describe Israel’s idolatry as going after other gods, while 2 Kings 9:22 connects such rebellion with corrupt worship. Ezekiel 16 and 23 soberly portray Jerusalem’s spiritual adultery, exposing both the seriousness of sin and God’s righteous judgment.
