What does the Bible say about worship in church?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that the gathered church should worship God with reverence, joy, gratitude, truth, and wholehearted devotion through Christ. Jesus says true worshipers worship the Father in spirit and truth (John 4:23), while Hebrews 10:25 calls believers not to neglect meeting together but to encourage one another. The early church devoted itself to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayers (Acts 2:42). Psalms 100 and 150 summon God's people to enter his presence with thanksgiving and praise, using all fitting means to exalt him. Worship also includes offering our whole lives to God as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1), so Sunday gathering strengthens faithful obedience throughout the week.
