What does the Bible say about bad days?

The Bible teaches that bad days are real and painful, yet God remains near, faithful, and sovereign over His people’s suffering. The Psalms give believers words for grief and confusion, while also calling God a refuge for the oppressed and close to the brokenhearted (Psalms 9:9; 22:1-2; 34:17-18). In Christ, affliction may press us hard without finally destroying us (2 Corinthians 4:8-9), and trials can produce steadfast faith (James 1:2-4). Believers may cast every anxiety on God because He cares for them (1 Peter 5:7). Even in dark valleys, the Shepherd is present (Psalms 23:4), and God’s mercies are new each morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).
