The Bible calls us to live truthfully before God, receiving our identity as his creatures and using our distinct gifts for his glory rather than seeking approval from others. Yet being ourselves is not self-invention or following every desire; Romans 12:2 calls believers to be renewed in mind and conformed to God’s will.
