What does the Bible say about good health?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that good health is a gracious gift from God, to be received with gratitude, sought through wise and faithful living, and never treated as a guarantee apart from his sovereign care. Scripture calls God the healer of his people in Jeremiah 17:14 and Exodus 15:26, while Jeremiah 33:6 points to his power to bring healing and peace. Proverbs commends a joyful heart, reverent fear of the Lord, and gracious speech as strengthening influences (Proverbs 17:22; 3:7-8; 16:24). Believers should also honor God with their bodies and all their daily choices (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 10:31). Yet health ultimately rests in God’s wise providence, and Christ remains our deepest hope in sickness and strength alike.
