What does the Bible say about hope?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that hope is a confident, God-given expectation rooted in his promises, strengthened through Christ’s resurrection, and directed toward eternal life. The psalmist waits for the Lord alone, knowing that God watches over those who fear him and hope in his steadfast love (Psalms 39:7; Psalms 33:18). Christian hope rests in God through Jesus Christ, whose resurrection secures our future and keeps faith from being empty (1 Peter 1:21; 1 Corinthians 15:19). It is the hope of God’s promised salvation and eternal life, long anticipated by his people (Acts 26:6-7; Titus 1:2). By the Holy Spirit, believers wait in faith and abound in hope through God’s peace and power (Romans 15:13; Galatians 5:5).
