What does the Bible say about inspiration?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that its message is breathed out by God, faithfully delivered through human authors, and given to lead God’s people into truth, faith, and obedient living. Second Timothy 3:16-17 declares that Scripture equips believers for every good work, while 2 Peter 1:21 explains that men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised in John 16:13 that the Spirit would guide His apostles into truth, and He prayed, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17). Therefore Christians should receive Scripture as God’s trustworthy Word, test all spiritual claims by it (1 John 4:1), and find in it God’s sure guidance and comfort.
