The Bible teaches that the land belongs ultimately to God, who graciously gives it for human stewardship, sustenance, and the fulfillment of his covenant purposes. In Genesis 1:28, humanity is commissioned to exercise faithful dominion over the earth, while Leviticus 25:23 reminds Israel that even their promised inheritance remained God’s possession. God promised land to Abraham and his descendants in Genesis 12:1 and Genesis 13:14-17, and he delivered Israel from Egypt into a fruitful land in Exodus 3:8 and Deuteronomy 1:8.
