What does the Bible say about peace on earth?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that true and lasting peace comes from God through Jesus Christ, though complete peace on earth awaits His righteous reign. Jesus gives His people peace in the midst of trouble, not as the world gives it (John 14:27; John 16:33). Through faith, believers have peace with God because Christ has reconciled them by His saving work (Romans 5:1). The angels proclaimed His birth as the dawn of God’s peace (Luke 2:14), and Isaiah foretold Him as the Prince of Peace whose kingdom will never end (Isaiah 9:6-7). Christians therefore seek peace, pray instead of anxiously striving, and trust God to guard their hearts (Psalms 34:14; Philippians 4:6-7).
