What does the Bible say about pleasing the lord?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that pleasing the Lord means trusting Him through faith in Christ and living in humble, obedient gratitude by the power of His Spirit. Hebrews 11:6 says faith is essential, while Romans 8:8 reminds us that the flesh cannot please God apart from His renewing grace. Colossians 1:10 calls believers to walk worthily of the Lord, bearing fruit in good works and growing in knowledge of Him. God Himself works in His children both the desire and ability to obey, as Philippians 2:13 teaches. Pleasing God therefore is not people-pleasing or self-righteous effort, but a reverent life shaped by His truth, rejecting known sin and seeking His glory above all.
