What does the Bible say about privilege?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that every true privilege is a gift from God, given not for pride or self-exaltation but for humble service, gratitude, and love of neighbor. Scripture warns that human distinctions such as wealth, status, heritage, and power can tempt us to partiality, yet God shows no favoritism and calls his people to do the same. Israel’s covenant privileges brought greater responsibility, not entitlement, and Christians who have received the gospel are stewards of God’s grace. In Christ, believers are adopted as God’s children and share equal standing before him, while being commanded to use every advantage to seek justice, mercy, generosity, and the good of others.
