The Bible teaches that rejection, though painful, does not separate God’s people from his love or overturn his faithful purposes. Jesus himself was despised and rejected, yet became the cornerstone of salvation (Isaiah 53:3; 1 Peter 2:4). Believers should not be surprised when the world rejects them, for it first rejected Christ (John 15:18; John 1:11). The Lord hears the righteous in their distress, remains near to the brokenhearted, and will not forsake his people (Psalms 34:17-20; Psalms 94:14). Even when human relationships fail, God receives his children (Psalms 27:10). In weakness, Christ’s sufficient grace sustains us and calls us to cast every anxiety on him (2 Corinthians 12:9; 1 Peter 5:7).
