What does the Bible say about resurrection?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that God, through Jesus Christ, raises the dead and gives eternal life to all who belong to him. Jesus declares in John 11:25-26 that he is the resurrection and the life, so believers live even though they die. His own resurrection is the foundation of this hope: God raised Christ, and 1 Peter 1:3 says this gives believers a living hope. By the Spirit who raised Jesus, God will also give life to our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11). Those who die in Christ will rise when he returns (1 Thessalonians 4:14), while John 6:40 promises resurrection unto everlasting life for everyone who trusts the Son.
