What does the Bible say about sensuality?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible warns against making bodily pleasure, ease, and present enjoyment our master, while affirming that God gives lawful gifts to be received with gratitude and self-control. Ecclesiastes commends enjoying food, work, and youth as gifts from God, yet Ecclesiastes 11:9 also calls every person to remember God’s judgment. Isaiah 22:13 and 56:12 portray self-indulgent living as spiritually blind, and Luke 12:19-20 warns that a life centered on comfort may end suddenly before God. Paul likewise rejects the slogan, “Let us eat and drink,” apart from resurrection hope, and warns that corrupt company shapes conduct (1 Corinthians 15:32-33). In Christ, believers are freed to enjoy God’s blessings without being ruled by them.
