What does the Bible say about stars?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that the stars are God’s splendid creatures, made by his powerful word to display his glory, govern the night, and remind us of our smallness before him. Genesis 1:16 presents them as works of the Creator, while Psalms 8:3 and 33:6 praise the heavens as the work of his hands and mouth. Their beauty and differing glory, noted in 1 Corinthians 15:41, point beyond themselves to God’s wisdom. Yet Scripture firmly forbids worshiping the stars or treating them as rulers of destiny, as Deuteronomy 4:19 and 2 Kings 17:16 warn. Amos 5:8 calls us instead to seek the Lord who made them.
