What does the Bible say about the holy trinity?

The Bible teaches that there is one true God who eternally exists as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in divine nature and worthy of worship. Jesus commands baptism into the one name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Matthew 28:19, while John 1:1 and John 1:14 proclaim that the eternal Word is God and became flesh in Christ. Jesus says, “I and the Father are one” in John 10:30, and the Spirit is sent by both Father and Son in John 14:26 and John 15:26. Though the term Trinity is not used, Scripture’s united testimony leads Christians to confess one God in three persons.
