What does the Bible say about the human mind?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that the human mind is a God-given part of our whole person, created to know, love, and serve Him, yet affected by sin and in need of renewal. God formed us wonderfully in the womb and made humanity in His image (Psalms 139:13-16; Genesis 1:27). Because sin can deceive and corrupt our thoughts, believers are called to guard their hearts, seek God with mind and soul, and have the mind of Christ (Proverbs 4:23; 2 Corinthians 11:3; Philippians 2:5). Through the gospel, God renews the mind for discerning His will (Romans 12:2), grants guarding peace (Philippians 4:7), and sanctifies the whole person by His grace (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
