What does the Bible say about the world ending?

The Bible teaches that the present world order will end when Jesus Christ returns in glory, bringing final judgment, the defeat of evil, and the full salvation of his people. Jesus warns that no one knows the day or hour, so believers are called to watch, be ready, and remain faithful (Matthew 24:36, 42, 44). Those who endure in faith will be saved (Matthew 24:13), not by their own strength but by God’s preserving grace. Though the whole world lies under the power of the evil one (1 John 5:19), God gave his Son so that all who believe in him have eternal life (John 3:16).
