What does the Bible say about the spirit world?

The Bible teaches that the unseen spiritual realm is real, created by God, and wholly subject to the reign of Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:16 says that visible and invisible powers were made through and for Christ, while Ephesians 6:12 warns believers that their struggle includes spiritual forces of evil. Yet Christians need not fear, for Christ is exalted above every authority and has triumphed over hostile powers through His cross (Colossians 2:10-15; 1 Peter 3:22). God is spirit and calls His people to worship Him truly (John 4:24), to be guided by the Holy Spirit (John 16:13), and to resist worldly conformity (Romans 12:2). Revelation 20:1-15 assures us that Satan, death, and evil will finally face God’s righteous judgment.
