What does the Bible say about communion of saints?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that all who belong to Christ are united to him and, therefore, to one another in a real spiritual fellowship that spans every place and generation. Jesus prayed that his people would be one in John 17:20-21, and 1 John 1:3, 7 describes shared fellowship with the Father, the Son, and fellow believers through Christ's cleansing blood. Hebrews 12:22-24 portrays believers as joined to the heavenly assembly and to Jesus, our mediator. This communion is expressed in mutual recognition, prayer, worship, encouragement, and partnership in the gospel, as seen in Galatians 2:9, Malachi 3:16, Matthew 18:20, and Psalms 34:3.
