What does the Bible say about going away?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that believers need not be troubled when Christ seems absent, because His departure was for their good and His promises remain sure. In John 14:1-31, Jesus comforts His disciples before the cross, assuring them that He goes to prepare a place in His Father's house and will come again to receive them. He alone is the way to the Father, and through faith in Him His people are not abandoned. John 14:27 especially gives Christ's peace, unlike the fragile peace of the world, to fearful hearts. By His Spirit, the risen Lord remains with His church, teaching, sustaining, and directing believers toward their final home with God.
