What does the Bible say about growing in knowledge?

The Bible teaches that believers should grow in the true knowledge of God through his Word, so that their minds, loves, and lives are increasingly shaped by Christ. We grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as Scripture teaches, corrects, trains, and equips us for every good work (2 Peter 3:18; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). This growth is not mere accumulation of facts, but discernment joined to love, obedience, and spiritual maturity (Philippians 1:9; Hebrews 5:11-14). The fear of the Lord is its beginning (Proverbs 1:7), and God renews us by transforming our minds (Romans 12:2). Therefore Christians should diligently study Scripture, receive its pure nourishment, and speak the truth in love (2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Peter 2:2; Ephesians 4:15).
