What does the Bible say about health?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that health is a good gift from God, to be received with gratitude, pursued with wise stewardship, and ultimately entrusted to his sovereign care. Our bodies belong to the Lord and are temples of the Holy Spirit, so believers are called to honor God in bodily choices and in all they do (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 10:31). Scripture commends a joyful heart, wise living, wholesome words, and reverent trust as aids to well-being (Proverbs 17:22; 3:7-8; 16:24). Yet bodily training has limited value compared with godliness (1 Timothy 4:8), and God remains the healer of the brokenhearted (Psalms 147:3). In sickness and strength alike, Christians seek God’s mercy and live for his glory.
