What does the Bible say about spreading the word?

The Bible teaches that Christ’s people are called to proclaim the gospel boldly, lovingly, and faithfully, trusting God to save those who hear. Jesus commands His disciples to go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing and teaching them to obey Him (Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 28:19). The message is the good news that God loved the world and gave His Son so that believers receive eternal life (John 3:16). Though opposition and hardship may come, believers must preach the Word in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2), unashamed of the gospel as God’s power for salvation (Romans 1:16). God appoints and sends His servants, and through them spreads the knowledge of Christ everywhere (Jeremiah 1:5; 2 Corinthians 2:14).
