What does the Bible say about teaching?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that teaching is a sacred ministry of making God’s truth known, forming believers in wisdom, faith, and obedience to Christ. Scripture is God-breathed and equips His people for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17), so sound teaching must be rooted in the whole counsel of God rather than human speculation. Ministers are charged to preach the Word patiently and faithfully (2 Timothy 4:2), while all believers are to let Christ’s word dwell richly among them as they teach and admonish one another (Colossians 3:16). Teachers bear particular accountability (James 3:1) and should correct opponents with gentleness (2 Timothy 2:23-26). Christ ultimately sends His church to teach the nations to obey all He commanded (Matthew 28:19-20).
