What does the Bible say about teaching and preaching?

The Bible teaches that teaching and preaching are sacred ministries in which God’s Word is faithfully explained, proclaimed, and applied so that His people may grow in faith and obedience. Ministers must preach the Word with patience and urgency, in season and out of season, as 2 Timothy 4:2 commands. Because teachers bear greater accountability, James 3:1 calls for humility, sound doctrine, and careful speech.
