What does the Bible say about the body of christ?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that all who belong to Christ are united to him as their living Head and joined to one another as one body, called to love, serve, and grow together. In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, Paul explains that the body has many necessary members with different gifts, so none may boast or be neglected. Romans 12:4-5 and Ephesians 4:16 stress mutual dependence and growth through each believer's faithful service. Christ alone is the Head of the church, as Colossians 1:18 and Ephesians 1:20-23 declare, supplying life and authority to his people. Bound together in love and nourished by his Word, the church displays Christ's saving grace to the world.
