What does the Bible say about spirit of distraction?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible does not identify a distinct “spirit of distraction,” but it warns that spiritual deception, worldly blindness, and disordered desires can draw our minds from God and His holiness. Believers are therefore to test spirits by God’s truth (1 John 4:1), prepare their minds for action, and set their hope fully on Christ (1 Peter 1:13-16). Satan blinds unbelieving minds (2 Corinthians 4:4), yet God calls us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices and be renewed in mind (Romans 12:1). Remembering God’s steadfast mercy, as Psalm 103 teaches, strengthens worshipful attention. In Christ we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28), so prayer, Scripture, repentance, and faithful obedience help redirect wandering hearts to Him.
