What does the Bible say about how to make peace?

Bible Topic · WEB

The Bible teaches that believers are to pursue peace with God and with others, trusting that true peace is found in Christ and shaped by holiness, truth, humility, and love. Jesus calls His people peacemakers in Matthew 5:9, while Romans 12:18 urges them, so far as it depends on them, to live peaceably with all. Psalm 34:14 and Hebrews 12:14 command Christians to turn from evil, do good, and seek peace earnestly. Yet peace is not mere avoidance of conflict or compromise with sin. Christ Himself is our peace, reconciling sinners to God and one another through His cross, as Ephesians 2:14 teaches. Therefore believers should forgive, pursue mutual upbuilding, and rest in Christ's peace (Romans 14:19; John 14:27).
