What does the Bible say about peace?

The Bible teaches that true peace is God’s gift through Jesus Christ, guarding believers amid trouble and shaping their lives with God and others. Jesus promises peace unlike the world gives and assures His disciples that He has overcome the world (John 14:27; John 16:33). God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds trust Him, while prayerful dependence replaces anxiety with His guarding peace (Isaiah 26:3; Philippians 4:6-7). Through Christ’s rule in the heart, believers are called to rest securely, pursue holiness, and live peaceably with all as far as it depends on them (Psalms 4:8; Colossians 3:15; Romans 12:18; Hebrews 12:14).
