What does the Bible say about judgments?
Bible Topic · WEB
The Bible teaches that God’s judgments are holy, righteous, and sovereign acts by which He opposes sin, warns the rebellious, and vindicates His name. Deuteronomy 32:39 declares that life, death, wounding, and healing are in His hand, while Job 12:23 shows His rule over nations. Amos 3:6 and Micah 6:9 call people to recognize God’s hand in calamity and to heed His correction. The covenant curses in Deuteronomy 28:21-22 and 29:20, together with the warnings in Hosea 4:17, Malachi 2:2, and Amos 4:10, reveal the seriousness of persistent idolatry and disobedience. Yet God’s judgments are also calls to repentance, driving sinners to seek mercy in Christ.
